The Smile Team



​My team started out small, as in fundraising at church garage sales small. Then I was offered the opportunity to speak in front of my congregation, and eleven year old me jumped at the chance. Guess what? That first speaking engagement raised over $5,000 for children born with cleft lip and palate. After that, I realized that speaking was my best chance to make a real difference. So, I set out on several years worth of national speaking tours traveling everywhere all across the country from New Orleans, LA to Anaheim, CA to Baltimore, MD. As a result, we have...

  • Raised and donated over $212,631.10​
  • Fixed 404 smiles overseas, with each smile contributing an estimated $50,000 back into the global economy.
  • Donated $98,825.59 to financially assist eight Cleft teams nationally
  • Purchased and distributed 300 cleft comfort bears 
  • Provided $2,000 in scholarships to students born with clefts
